Knighthood for Arts and Lettres (FRANCE)

Knighthood for  Culture and Arts (MONACO)

Interpreter who "masters the craft of music (Suddeutsche Zeitung) endowed with a "winged virtuosity" (Classica),"one of the greatest of her generation" (Piano Magazine), regularly invited by eminent Orchestras and conductors, performing in major venues such as Ravinia Festival Chicago, Verbier Festival, Philharmonie de Paris, Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Tokyo Forum, La Fenice in Venice, Salzburg Mozarteum, Brazil Sala Sao Paulo, Munich Prinzregententheater or Vienna Konzerthaus to name a few, Shani Diluka bridges the gap between East and West, between her piano and writing poetry (her book was on the prize list of Academie Française). Born in Monaco from Sri Lankan parents, she was discovered at the age of six by a program initiated by Princess Grace of Monaco for exceptional talent. She is the only pianist from the Indian continent to enter Paris Conservatory gaining 1st prize with Unanimity of the jury, and to enter the prestigious Lake Como International Piano Academy presided by Martha Argerich. After legends like Callas, Rostropovitch or Menuhin, she joined the prestigious label WARNER Classics as an exclusive artist, after major awards obtained for her previous recordings (Shock of the music, RTL d´Or, Choice of Arte, by Mezzo, Vogue Japon, 5 Diapasons, Gramophone, Fanfare USA, Diapason, Musikzen, Arena Award Japan…). Her career is nourished by prestigious collaborations with Natalie Dessay, Michel Portal, or the composers W. Rhim, K. Beffa, B. Mantovani, but also with major actors such as Sophie Marceau, Gérard Depardieu, or Charles Berling. Shani is also regular partner of renowned ensembles such as the Ebene, Ysaÿe, Prazak, Modigliani, Belcea quartets. She represents an innovative vision of music through original projects and noticed such as "Cosmos" at Warner Classics or "Road 66" official record of the Folle Journée, while transmitting the heritage that she received great masters such as Leon Fleisher, Menahem Pressler, Valentin Erben from the Alban Berg quartet (with whom she recorded the complete Beethoven) or Elisabeth Leonskaja with whom she is working since these last years. Her recent recording for Warner Classics built around Marcel Proust and "The Search for Lost Time" based on the golden age of french music has received praise from international press and numerous awards. It was the main feature for Proust Celebration year 2022. In 2023-2024, Shani Diluka will be performing in major venues including Wigmore Hall, Paris Philharmonie, Théâtre des Champs Elysées, Bregenz Festpielhaus, Théatre du Chatelet, for ARTE Concert...
